Innovative textile recycling with AGATEX and the Augsburg Recycling Atelier
AGATEX Feinchemie GmbH is setting new standards in the field of textile recycling through its collaboration with the Recycling Atelier of Augsburg Technical University and the Institute of Textile Technology Augsburg (ITA). This partnership, which has been in place since June 2024, aims to make the mechanical recycling process of textiles more efficient, qualitative and sustainable. Our highly developed specialty chemicals play a central role in this by optimizing various steps of recycling and supporting the most ecological way of textile recycling.
Our partnership and goals
AGATEX Feinchemie GmbH, as an experienced manufacturer of fine and specialty chemicals, contributes its expertise to the Recycling Atelier partner network, which consists of eleven industrial companies and covers the entire process chain of mechanical textile recycling. Our specialty materials improve the processing of discarded textiles and help to retain valuable fiber length, which is a decisive factor for high-quality recycling.
About our partners
The Recycling Atelier Augsburg is the first model factory for mechanical textile recycling worldwide and a leading center for the development of innovative and sustainable solutions along the entire textile production chain. The research and development work focuses on the entire path of textile secondary raw materials – from used textiles back into high-quality products. Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (THA) and the Institute of Textile Technology Augsburg (ITA) use their extensive expertise to act as catalysts for the industry to become more sustainable
